The Placidia fonts, including the Normal and Display versions, are classy, elegant and stylish, available in weights from extra light to extra bold and black.
Placidia Semi-Serif is intended for use in a variety of settings and text sizes. Try it together with Placidia Display or a sans-serif font, such as Placidia Sans or Burdigala X Sans.
What’s in a name?
There once was an empress of the Western Roman Empire way back in the late 4th century, seated in the town of Ravenna on the Adriatic Coast of Italy. Her name was Galla Placidia. There is a beautiful mausoleum dedicated to her, situated right next to the equally magnificent basilica, also in Ravenna.
Why Semi-Serif?
A semi-serif font represents the best of two worlds. You get the simplicity of a sans-serif combined with hints of elegance and sophistication from the serifs. Stylistically speaking, this gives you an advantage in that you can use it in place of both the sans and the serif, or simply in combination with either of the two.
